This morning we had to be up early to check out of our New York hotel and meet up with the Contiki group by 7.30am. We met our coach driver Frank, who loaded up our suitcases and then we jumped on the coach for our 2 hour drive to our first destination, Philadelphia.
With my next trip coming up in less than 3 months, I’ve been starting to look at the cities we are visiting and what we can do on days when we have free time. We only have such a short amount of time in each place (sometimes not even a full day) so it’s hard to know how much we’ll actually be able to see.
First up is New York, where I have been before. We only have two days in New York before our Contiki commences. We arrive at 6.30am so much of the first day will be taken up with checking in to our hotel (Fairfield Inn & Suites Manhattan/Chelsea) and catching up on sleep after around 18 hours of travelling.
About a month after I had been home from my trip, the travel bug started kicking in again and I started thinking about how much I wanted to go back to the states and also to Canada.
I mentioned this to my family and my brother said that he also wanted to go to Canada and that was all I needed to hear to start planning. Originally, we planned on doing two Contiki tours which would cover both sides of Canada and a bit of the US as well. But, this was going to cost far more than I would be able to afford so soon after my last big trip. So we settled on just one trip – Eastern Escapade.
