Niagra Falls to Toronto

This morning, those of us that has signed up had our helicopter flight over Niagra Falls. We had to be at the coach by 9 which was a bit rough after last night!

This was my third time on a copter and I was lucky enough to get the front seat. I love flying by helicopter, I think it’s really awesome. Our flight was quite short but the view was absolutely amazing. It’s one of those things that you’d only do once but it was definitely worth the price (especially as it was only $99usd).

After the flight, we had some time back in Niagra to get some food before heading to Toronto. A bunch of us went to Denny’s – I had a huge American breakfast and it was pretty good.

At 12.15, we were all on the coach to Toronto. Half an hour out of Toronto, we entered wine country and stopped at Jackson Triggs vineyard for an included winery tour and tasting. It was incredibly hot at the vineyard but we got to sample a few nice wines, including an ice wine which is made in the middle of winter and midnight. It was very sweet and syrupy.

After the winery, it was back on the road to Toronto. It was about an hour or so drive – I fell asleep and slept the whole way.

Our hotel in Toronto was the Bond Street hotel – it was very nice, such an improvement from the crappy hotel in Niagra. We got to the hotel around 3.30pm so we went straight out to do washing. After this, it was time for our included dinner at Pickle Barrel – it was really good, I had spaghetti and meatballs and a delicious cocktail (a strawberry bellini).

After dinner, Matt and I headed back to the hotel to FaceTime with mum and dad as they were heading to Hawaii that night. Everyone else went out but I wasn’t keen. I definitely had no regrets of not going!
